To play BC/49, simply choose six numbers from 1 to 49 on a play area of a selection slip, or you can choose the Quick Pick option to get a randomly-selected combination. The total liability for the second prize of $75,000 is limited to $450,000 or the equivalent of six winners. This means that if more than six players win the second prize, instead of winning $75,000 each, they will share $450,000 equally.
For an additional $1, you can also play the Extra game along with BC/49. In this game, a four number combination ranging from 1 to 99 is randomly selected by machine and automatically printed on your ticket; however the number will not be eligible for a drawing unless you opt-in. To activate the number, simply mark yes on the play area of the play slip or request it from the clerk when playing the Quick Pick option; each combination costs $1. You can play an Extra number for each BC/49 combination you play. The grand prize is $500,000 if you successfully match four numbers. Minor prizes are $1,000 if you match three numbers; $10 for matching two; and $1 for matching one. Draws for Extra numbers are held along with BC/49 drawings.
You can also play BC49 lottery and Lotto 6/49 games simultaneously by marking BOTH Lotto 6/49 and BC/49 on your play slip; each ticket costs $3. You can select your own combination or ask for a randomly-selected combination through the Quick Pick option. There are a wide range of other options available for combining the games, ranging from the Mini Dip, which makes a Quick Pick for BC/49, Lotto 6/49 and one Extra combination for $4 per ticket, to the Double Dip of three Quick Pick selections for BC/49 and Lotto 6/49 plus one Extra combination for $10 per ticket.
